Video Transfer

What is StageClip and How does it work?

StageClips are personalised on-stage video clips for students who participate in graduation (approx 30-60 seconds long).  Clips feature their name, degree and University branding.  StageClips are ready straight after the ceremony for graduates to post on social media from their mobile phones.

We operate a fully managed service which means that all you need to do is provide the video. There are two ways we take video. Live stream or file upload to our website.  You graduation organizer uploads a running order and this is merged with your video to create clips.

LIVE STREAM

We can take an existing stream if it is compatible and of good enough quality. We'll give you details and run a stream test. Otherwise, we'll give you settings for the StageClip server to stream to with a guide of recommended settings to use. This is free.

The key information we need from you is:

  • Where can we find the live stream? e.g. (Ustream, YouTube, custom rtmp url)
  • What quality stream are you providing? (resolution, bitrate)
  • What internet connection are you using? (speed, jitter, reliability)
  • Are there are any baked in overlays in the stream? (subtitles, watermark)

What about dropouts?

Stream encoders at your end can be set-up to be resistant to dropouts by sacrificing the need to deliver the live video immediately.  If the internet drops out for you, the stream encoder can store the video until the internet comes alive again and start where it left off.

FILE UPLOAD / TRANSFER

You can upload a file to our secure portal after the ceremony.  For speed we recommend you only send the graduates walking (unless you wish to offer speech clips too).
